Stones We Don't Really Need
<p>I was just there. it was hot. I just had to bear the burning heat, at the same time I was holding the pot. The stone kept rolling - like a donkey chair on a hill - beneath my black pot, the cooking did not stop but it was slowed by that swinging, unstable stone.</p><p></p><p>The stone was supporting the main stone and I thought it was important for me to ensure its stability. So,on and on I endured the smoke entering my eyes, the heat against my skin and the discomfort that cane with keeping the stone in place.</p><p></p><p>But then, I moved from my position to another. </p><p></p><p>And what I discovered was a fortunately unfortunate thing.</p><p><br/></p><p>I discovered my pot didn't need the stone to stand.</p><p></p><p>I was shocked. </p><p></p><p>Then, I heard a gentle whispering my ears;</p><p></p><p>There are some people we regard as our support system. They might even appear to be the main stones holding everything together, and we begin to believe we cannot stand without them. </p><p></p><p>So, we keep accommodating them, tolerating them, managing their growing excesses and bearing the things they put us through all because we believe we need them. </p><p></p><p></p><p>We might have even endured " smoke" entering our eyes, face delays and even suffer burn because of them. </p><p></p><p>A change of position can help us see what we could not see before; that we do not need certain people for our lives to stand and for us to stand in life.</p><p></p><p>Sometimes, holding on to them only becomes detrimental to the journey of our lives. And perhaps the most difficult thing to do is also the thing that sets us free which is to let them go.</p><p></p><p>Because sometimes, letting go is not the end of our journey.</p><p></p><p>Sometimes, it is how we finally begin to live.</p><p></p>
