<p style="text-align: justify; ">Forgiveness is one of those things that sounds easy when you are talking about it, but becomes difficult the moment you are the one who has been hurt.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">I used to think forgiveness meant forgetting what someone did to you. But as I grow older, I am beginning to understand that forgiveness does not necessarily mean forgetting. Sometimes, it simply means choosing not to let what happened control the person you become.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><strong>The Qur’an says:</strong></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">“Those who spend in prosperity and adversity, who restrain anger and pardon people, and Allah loves the doers of good.”</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><strong>— Surah Al-Imran (3:134)</strong></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">There is something deep about the connection between anger and forgiveness here. Before forgiveness comes the struggle with our emotions.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">When someone hurts us, anger usually arrives before reasoning. We replay the situation in our heads. We remember exactly what was said. Sometimes, we even create conversations that never happened, imagining what we should have said back.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">That is the strange thing about human emotions. They can keep an old wound alive long after the person who caused it has moved on.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">You can forgive someone and still remember the pain.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">You can accept an apology and still need time to heal.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">You can decide not to hate someone without wanting them close to you again.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">I think that is where forgiveness becomes more meaningful. It is not pretending that the hurt did not matter. It is accepting that carrying anger forever may only give the person who hurt you a permanent place in your heart.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><strong>Another verse says:</strong></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">“Let them pardon and overlook. Would you not love for Allah to forgive you?”</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><strong>— Surah An-Nur (24:22)</strong></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">That question stays with me: Would you not love for Allah to forgive you?</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">We all make mistakes. We disappoint people. Sometimes we say things in anger that we wish we could take back. Sometimes we hurt people without fully understanding how deeply our actions affected them.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">And yet, we still hope to be forgiven.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Maybe that is why forgiveness is difficult but beautiful. It asks us to remember that we are not perfect either.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">But forgiveness does not mean allowing people to repeatedly hurt us. You can forgive someone and still create distance. You can forgive without returning to the same situation. You can forgive while still learning from what happened.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">For me, forgiveness is not weakness.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Sometimes, it is the strongest thing a person can do with a wounded heart.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Because holding anger can feel like justice at first, until you realise you are the one carrying it everywhere.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Maybe forgiveness is simply putting the burden down.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Not because the pain was small.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br/></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">But because your heart deserves to be free from it.</p>
At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
