Is It Every Human or Just Them?Ah, humans. We judge, we condemn, approve, we criticize, castigate at any sight of injustice. We let out our complaints, we raise a banner of protest, “Solidarity is forever.” “He’s doing too much.”“He’s extorting us.”“He hiked the price.” I remember we all grumbled at what we felt was wrong. I remember all our faces. Halima was part too. She was even the orchestrator of the criticism. We made our complaints, but its smoke didn’t pass the four corners of the room. Remembering this now makes it very funny. We were supposed to be the ones who advocate for others. At least, that much we can do with our little influence. We should have done something, but we didn’t. What stopped us? Fear? No! It’s not fear. The manipulator isn’t one to be afraid of; he’s got nothing on us. But still, we couldn’t do anything. Then I realized we only complain without action, and that’s what most humans do. We are too comfortable in our suffering that we find making a change tasking. Few weeks later, power shifted.Life works miraculously, right? But this time, it was to Halima.When she faced the same situation again, only I knew this: she hiked the price three times than what was meant to be paid. I was really troubled, not because of the actions, but because the personality I had in my mind then couldn’t have done that. But humans change, and that has brought a lot of unanswered questions into my head. “Isn’t she the one complaining then?”“Why can’t you make a difference now that you are in power?”It’s just so confusing. We pray for something, and the moment we have the answer, we forget what we planned and promised to do. We do the exact opposite of our plans.Now, when I see people complain, criticize others, or even go as far as to judge them, I don’t join them because I’ve seen how quickly they can change if given the power to make a difference. I’ve realized people only complain because they are on the losing side, won’t you agree? They only complain about something when they can’t benefit from it. Now I’m scared of people who shout for change, not because I’m scared of change, but because there’s no proof they won’t do worse if given the power and the chance to. I really want to test myself if given that power too. “Will I act anyhow different?” I really want to know if that’s how all humans are or that’s just the way Halima and the Manipulator are.
