Chapter 4 – The First Outing
<p style="text-align: center;"><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>After the street encounter, it didn’t take long before he suggested we go out. Nothing dramatic just a simple outing.</p><p><br/></p><p>I said yes. Not because I was sure, but because curiosity got the better of me. </p><p>Part of me still kept him at arm’s length, still cautious about what could come out of being around him. But another part of me wanted to see where this energy between us might lead.</p><p><br/></p><p>We met up, and to my surprise, it didn’t feel awkward. He had this easy, steady way of carrying himself that made silence comfortable, not heavy.</p><p> I gave him attitude not on purpose, it’s just how I am when I don’t want anyone reading me too quickly. He didn’t fight it. He just went along, patient, like he had all the time in the world.</p><p><br/></p><p>We talked nothing too deep, but enough to see glimpses of who he was beyond what I thought I knew. It wasn’t about grand gestures or romance. It was about company. His company.</p><p><br/></p><p>And I liked it.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not in a way I wanted to admit, even to myself, but enough to notice.</p><p><br/></p><p>That day wasn’t about confessions or decisions. It was about testing the waters him with his quiet persistence, me with my half-shielded laughter.</p><p><br/></p><p>When I got home, I caught myself replaying small moments in my head. </p><p>The way he looked at me when I teased him. </p><p>The way he didn’t flinch at my sharp mouth, but matched it. The way it felt, for a short while, like I didn’t need to explain myself.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was just the first outing. But it didn’t feel like the last.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><em>Authors note: Honestly how has this story been so far?</em></p>
