An excerpt from Forbidden Love Story by Omalia

There’s a version of falling in love that looks like the movies. Grand gestures. Declarations. Someone running through an airport or standing in the rain saying the right thing at exactly the right moment.

That wasn’t us.

Ours looked like him stealing my food without asking and acting innocent when I caught him. It looked like me calling him at midnight over nothing and him picking up every single time, voice rough with sleep, not once complaining. It looked like arguments about the most irrelevant things argued with the kind of passion most people reserved for things that actually mattered.

It looked like ordinary. But it was ours, and that made it everything.

We had a rule for fighting.

Whatever we were arguing about we settled it with a game. Winner takes the argument. No discussion, no appeals.

What he didn’t mention was that he had absolutely no intention of playing fair.

He’d wait until I was focused and winning and feeling myself, then do something completely unhinged lean over and say something in my ear, grab my waist from behind, just be distracting in that specific way he knew worked on me. The moment my concentration slipped, he’d surge ahead like he’d been waiting patiently the whole time.

“That’s cheating,” I’d say.

“Experience,” he’d say, not even looking up from the screen.

So I learned. I’d pull my top off mid-game or lean over and kiss his neck. His hands would fumble. His focus would evaporate. I’d take the lead and never give it back.

“That’s cheating,” he’d say.

“Experience,” I’d say.

We were both terrible. We were both completely unrepentant about it.

The night he officially asked me out, it wasn’t dramatic.

We were eating I was stealing from his plate, which he pretended to be annoyed about, which we both knew he wasn’t and he just looked at me. One of those looks that sat on you with a little weight.

“So what are we doing?” he asked.

I kept chewing. “Eating.”

“You know what I mean.”

I put my fork down. Let the silence hold for exactly as long as I wanted it to.

Then I said: “Asking me out properly would be a good start.”

He laughed. Low, a little exasperated, like I was the most exhausting person he’d ever met.

Then he asked.

And I said yes in the most unbothered voice I could manage, which was not very unbothered at all.

What happens when the one thing you want is the one thing you’re not supposed to have?

Chapter one coming soon……

And if you can’t wait for it.. use the link below to read the full story.

Read Forbidden Love Story on Wattpad and Inkitt — links below.

📖 Wattpad: www.wattpad.com/story/401939422

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
