HIGH INCOME VS. FREE TIME: WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE TODAY?

Imagine someone walked up to you today and offered you two completely different life paths:

Option A: A high-paying position or fast-growing business that pays double—or even triple—what you currently make. The catch? It demands 60 to 70 hours of your week, requires constant availability, keeps your stress levels high, and leaves almost no room for a personal life.

Option B: A steady, comfortable income that easily covers your essential bills, affords modest savings, and allows a decent lifestyle. In return, you get low stress, predictable working hours, full control over your weekends, and the freedom to enjoy your days without constant anxiety.

A decade ago, the overwhelming majority of people would have chosen Option A without hesitation. Society heavily glorified the "hustle culture"—the mindset that you must sacrifice your sleep, your youth, and your relationships in your 20s and 30s to build financial dominance. Earning high income was seen as the ultimate mark of success, regardless of the personal cost.

However, a massive cultural shift is happening. More and more people are reaching burnout and coming to a powerful realization: time is a non-renewable currency.

Money is replaceable. You can lose a million today and make it back through hard work, smart investments, or new opportunities. But a spent day, a missed family gathering, neglected health, or lost years of your youth are gone forever. No amount of money in a bank account can purchase back yesterday.

On the other hand, we also cannot ignore economic realities. Living comfortably requires money. Financial strain creates its own severe form of mental stress, and having free time without enough financial backing to enjoy it can lead to frustration and limitation.

This brings us to one of the biggest dilemmas of modern life: Are we working to live, or living to work? Where do you personally draw the line between financial ambition and personal peace?

If you were forced to choose one of these paths today, which would you pick and why? Let’s have an honest discussion in the comments! 💬

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
